Beagle Receives Champion of Small Business Award

COLUMBUS – State Senator Bill Beagle (R – Tipp City) announced today that he has received the Champion of Small Business award from the National Coalition for Capital.

The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership in supporting policies that promote greater access to capital for small businesses and entrepreneurs, specifically those in economically distressed communities.

“Ensuring that small businesses have ready access to capital is a crucial element to achieving economic recovery in the Miami Valley and the state of Ohio,” Beagle said. “I am honored to be recognized, and I will continue to support the entrepreneurs who create jobs and opportunity for Ohio families.”

Senator Beagle has introduced legislation, along with Senator Charleta Tavares (D – Columbus) to expand Ohio’s New Market Tax Credit Program, which provides an incentive for private investment in businesses in low-income communities.

The National Coalition for Capital is a non-profit, nationwide coalition of leaders supporting economic development and job creation through long-term access to capital for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Beagle received the award as a part of the organization’s annual awards ceremony on August 8^th in Chicago, Illinois.

Senator Beagle Releases Statement Regarding Abbott Nutrition

COLUMBUS – State Senator Bill Beagle (R – Tipp City) has released the following statement in regards to the announcement that Abbott plans to build a new, state-of-the-art facility in Tipp City. The project is expected to feature an investment of $270 million and the creation of 240 jobs.

“Today’s announcement is a great win for both Tipp City and our region as a whole. In deciding their next step, Abbott Laboratories had several options to choose from. However, thanks to creativity, tenacity, and a lot of teamwork, Ohio landed this very important project.

In collaborating with local officials, representatives from Abbott, and the Governor’s Office, we have managed to bring a formidable and well-respected job creator to our area. I look forward to welcoming them to the region and helping as they expand their presence in Ohio.”
