State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) issued the following statement in advance of the release of President Obama’s FY17 Defense Budget. Beagle is running as a Republican candidate for the 8th Congressional District, serving Darke, Miami, Clark, Preble, Butler and parts of Mercer Counties.

“Today, more than ever, we need a robust and strong national defense strategy along with sufficient funding to support it. It is critical that President Obama understands the significant impact this budget will have on our nation’s ability to meet current and future security challenges,” Beagle said.

“Regional bases like our own Wright Patterson Air Force Base must also remain a key component of our national defense planning and budgeting. The research and development advances that have been made here exemplify the critical contributions that Wright Patterson is making to our military every day. This work is vital to our national security interests and must not be sacrificed through funding cuts or shifts,” Beagle added.

President Obama is scheduled to submit a $582.7 billion defense budget to Congress on Tuesday, February 9th. This projected amount dips below the minimum standards that many defense experts believe is adequate. This budget will control spending for all branches of the U.S. Military for FY17 and outlines at what levels defense programs will be funded.

TIPP CITY, Ohio – State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) today received the endorsement of all three Darke County Commissioners in the race for Ohio’s 8th Congressional District. Republican County Commissioners Diane Delaplane, Mike Rhoades and Mike Stegall announced their support for Beagle, touting his strong record of achievement while serving the people of Darke County in the Ohio Senate.

“In this crowded field for Ohio’s 8th Congressional District, only one candidate embodies the skills, experience and vision that Darke County residents expect in their next Congressman–that candidate is State Senator Bill Beagle,” said Commissioner Delaplane.

“Senator Beagle has played an important role in Ohio’s comeback by cutting taxes, balancing the state budget and leading efforts to reinvigorate Ohio’s workforce which has helped to strengthen our economy,” said Commissioner Mike Rhoades. “As our Congressman, Beagle will continue to fight for common-sense, conservative policies that will help to get our country back on track.”

“Bill Beagle is a respected voice for the people of Darke County,” said Commissioner Mike Stegall. “He is a proven reformer who demonstrates the kind of conservative leadership that we desperately need in Washington.”

Senator Beagle expressed his gratitude for the support of the Darke County leaders. “I am grateful for their support and for the confidence they have placed in me, and my campaign will benefit greatly from their insights and respect among Darke County voters.”

Bill Beagle worked for over 20 years in the private sector as a senior financial analyst, an operations manager and in customer service.  An entrepreneur, Bill started his own real-estate business in 2002 – a business he continues to successfully grow today.  In the Ohio Senate, Bill Beagle has been a leader in establishing a more business-friendly environment for employers and job seekers in the Buckeye State.

TIPP CITY – State Senator Bill Beagle (R-Tipp City) issued the following statement tonight in response to President Obama’s final State of the Union Address:
“Instead of presenting a plan to try and fix the damage done during the first seven years of his presidency, Obama decided to use his last State of the Union address to pat himself on his back for a job well done. Americans continue to be deprived of a leader who speaks the truth and tackles the real issues that plague our country. If we are ever going to get America back on track, we must send conservative leaders to Washington who share our values, our priorities and our vision for the future.”
